Colors. Reading activity.

Colors
1.    Red is a vibrant color.
2.    Roses are sometimes red
3.    Blood is red. White is the color of snow.
4.    Clouds are very often white.
5.    Blue is the color of the sky and the ocean.
6.    Black isn´t really a color at all. Tar is black. A crow is black.
7.    Green is the color of grass.
8.    It is also the colors of leaves on the trees in the summer.
9.    Brown is the color of dirt.
10. Many people have brown hair. Yellow is a bright color.
11. Most people use yellow when they draw a picture of the sun.
12. Orange is an easy color to remember, that is because an orange is orange.
13. Pink is the color that we dress baby girls in.
14. We dress baby boys in blue.
15. Purple is the color of some violets.
16. The Canadian flag is red and white.
17. What color is your flag?

The New School   (READING)
1.Tracey is starting a new school today.
2.She is very sad. She is very scared.
3.“I don’t want to go to school today,” Tracey tells her dad.
4.“I understand, sweetheart,” Dad says. “Starting a new school can be very scary.”
5.Tracey has moved to a new town. She has moved to a new house.                             

6.She is starting a new school today. She has done all of this in a week!
7.“I feel sick,” Tracey says. “My stomach hurts. I can’t eat breakfast.” 8.“I think that is because you are nervous,” Dad says. He brushes Tracey’s hair down.
9.He gives her a little hug.
10.“Try drinking just a little juice. Then I will walk you to school.”
11.Tracey and her dad walk to school. 12.Tracey thinks about many things.
13.Will I make friends?
14.Will I like my teacher?
15.What if I don’t know the answer to a question?
16.Will kids laugh at me?
17. What if no one likes me?
18. “We’re here,” says Dad.
19. Tracey looks up at the big building. Her other school was small.
20. Tracey wishes she could run away.
21.She knows she cannot.
22. She takes a deep breath.
23. She walks up the steps to school.
24. She walks into her third grade classroom.
25. “That must be Tracey,” she hears a boy say.
26. “Hello, Tracey!”  “Welcome, Tracey!”
27.“Let me show you around.”
28.Everyone seems kind. Tracey feels a little better.
29. She is still not happy. She is still a little scared. She cannot eat her lunch.
30. Dad picks Tracey up after school.
31. “How was your day?” he asks.
32. “Okay,” she says.
33. “It will get better,” Dad says. “Big changes are hard.”
34. “I know,” says Tracey. She reaches for her dad’s hand to hold as they walk home.
